Daniel Wessel joined the Wessel Group in 2025 and leads the media, profile management and crisis communications practice. He most recently served as Strategic Communications Advisor and Spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign, and President Joe Biden’s campaign prior to that. In this role, he was responsible for principal travel and message events, and executed well over 100 political message events.
Prior to joining the campaign, Daniel worked at the Democratic National Committee where he served as the Deputy Communications Director, serving as a close advisor to Chair Jaime Harrison, and before that as Deputy War Room Director and Spokesperson. Daniel also served as a member of the 2024 DNC Convention site selection committee and managed communications throughout the selection process.
Daniel joined the DNC after serving as Press Secretary in Virginia for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and prior to that served as Press Secretary at Correct The Record, a research and rapid-response shop by American Bridge.
